Working with Webhooks

Webhooks are an essential feature of the Adyen platform, delivering critical events such as payment outcomes, new chargebacks, report availability, and updates on merchant onboarding. But unlike REST APIs, the asynchronous nature of webhooks introduces unique challenges for developers especially in terms of testing and troubleshooting.

To support developers, we have created a range of resources, including a Getting Started video, a blog with Best Practices for consuming webhooks, and a newly released Developer Guide for testing webhooks in the local development environment. Our integration-examples are also a valuable resource, offering code snippets in various languages to help you receive, validate and process webhook events.

Adyen For Platforms (AfP) sample application
Are you working on Adyen for Platforms (AfP)? Check out the newly released sample application that shows how to integrate Hosted Onboarding and other AfP features using the Adyen Java library. The code is open-source: clone the repository on GitHub and run it locally.

New top navigation on Adyen Docs
Get access to all content sections, wherever you are in the docs - No more having to go to the homepage every time you want to go to a different part of docs! Less cognitive load of finding the section you need - we grouped the 14 sections by topic, into top navigation menus.

Simplify payment testing with the Adyen Test Cards browser extension
Testing payment flows is time-consuming, that's why we built a Chrome extension that brings all these test cards directly into the browser, along with a set of useful features: copy to clipboard, one-click autofill, and the ability to pin your favourite cards.

Transfer API v4
The Transfer API and Webhooks Version 4 represent a step toward simplifying a platform's integration effort. New fields provide more context, such as 'categoryData' with relevant information about bank transfers, platform payments, and Adyen-issued cards. Additionally, the new Transaction Webhook is available to inform you about incoming and outgoing transfers in your platform.
